Remuneration: $85K to $95K annual base (DOE) + incentive plan (5 – 8% annually)

 

 

The Client is a leading provider of consulting and implementation support services for command, control, and communications systems used in the intelligent transportation, public transit, public infrastructure, and public safety/homeland security marketplaces.

We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated professional to provide consulting services related to technology integration within public safety and law enforcement operational environments.

 

Public Safety (Homeland Security) Consultants are required to analyze the current system and operations methodologies, assess user needs, model information flow(s), develop alternative conceptual system designs, identify costs, perform trade-off analyses, prepare procurement specifications and supporting RFP material, evaluate vendor solutions, manage implementations, validate testing results, and orchestrate system and user migration. 

 

Typical projects require that the Consultant exercise proficiency in formalized project management methods, including planning and scheduling; cost control; risk and change order management; scope, schedule, budget, and quality management; project staffing; status reporting in the customer required formats. 

 

Position responsibilities stipulate professional, design engineering, field engineering or other public safety experience with these systems and processes:

 

·         P25 conventional and trunked voice and data radio systems

·         Standards and architectures for interoperable solutions

·         RF propagation modeling for both analog and digital trunked radio systems

·         Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint microwave radio systems

·         Private and commercial wide-area mobile data systems or services

·         FCC regulatory issues associated with private voice and data systems

·         Termination facilities; and ancillary systems

·         Support systems such as back-up generators, battery and UPS backup power communication equipment shelters, and tower structures 

·         9-1-1 Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Systems and related subsystems and applications

   

       

 

 Requirements: 

§          Successful applicants must have excellent oral, writing, presentation and interpersonal skills,

§         Must have inordinate knowlege of RF propagation and experience with propagation modeling, espeically in the San Francisco Bay Area.

§         BSEE or equivalent in electronics and engineering which might include extensive mobile radio public safety experience. Motorola trunking experience desirable. Extensive mobile radio field engineering and technical experience is included under "equivalent".

 

 

Desired Credentials:

Consulting experience as an RF engineer or Senior RF Mobile Radio Technician working with public safety technology.
